I got a Teaching job!
Hi everyone, Last week I said there would be a big announcement, so here it is! I just got a job as the art teacher for Stokes Elementary in Trenton, NJ!!! I can’t wait to share my passion for art with my students, and hopefully learn quite a bit myself.
I moved into this monstrous room on Tuesday, but sadly my art supplies consist of a few boxes of crayons and random paper so I am going to have to see what I can do with a tiny budget (and teach the students a lot about minimalist artwork while I’m waiting on my supplies to arrive). So far I’ve received some great donations of art supplies and posters from family and friends. If anyone has any art posters or old art supplies lying around I would be more than happy to accept any donations, send me an email or leave a comment if you are interested.
I will definitely continue with my automotive artwork, however wait times for InfamousJim’s Artwork will be a bit longer, especially as I am busy getting myself settled in the classroom.
My awesome (but a bit barren) room!

great news about the job. What kind of supplies are you looking for ? and where would we send them?

Thanks Kirk! Honestly, anything art-related could he helpful (and even non-art things can be helpful). Some things I don’t have that I would like are scissors (elementary style), any artwork posters, sharpies, and any other markers. But anything, paper, paint, crayons, pencils, etc would be great.
You can send them to my address and I’ll bring them in (I want to make sure everything makes it to my classroom and don’t get “lost” somewhere in the district)

Jim,
I did an image search today for Thanksgiving + Racing and found your really cool racing turkey artwork. I added it to my homepage and noted that it was your work, and I also provided a link to your page. (I try to give credit to every artist/photographer whose work appears anywhere on our site.) Please let me know if that is ok with you.
Our site is focused mainly on short track racing in the NJ area from the 50′s to current day, and we’ve got a few artists that stop by from time to time.
We are currently doing a fund racer on our site for a school for handicapped students in Peapack NJ, but once we are done with that (around Dec 15th) please email me and we’ll put a post on our site to see if we can’t come up with a $100 Staples Card or something that might help out with your supplies.
The site is http://www.3Wides.com and we have a message board that links of the homepage. If you scroll down the homepage, on the left you’ll find our “Toon Up Shop” section and inside, you’ll find a few works submitted by our viewers.
Thanks for teaching a new generation about the coolness of cars!
Sincerely,
Joe Macfarlan (aka 3-Wide)
