About the artist

My name is Jim Tramontano. I am a car enthusiast, High Performance Driving Instructor, Art Teacher, and Artist. I started InfamousJim’s Auto Art as a way to combine all the automotive artwork I’ve done for various customers, friends, and myself over the years. I have always used drawing as my creative outlet, so to combine it with two other passions of mine, cars and motorsports has been a natural progression. I try to capture not just the visual features of cars, but also the emotions and feelings of the automotive experience. My business is continuing to grow, and am always interested in opportunities to work with businesses in the automotive and art fields.

I have been doing body and mechanical work on cars part time since 2006. Being a teacher gives the great opportunity to have not one, but two dream jobs. Originally with 402 Motoring in Avon By The Sea, NJ then with AJ Hartman Racing and now I’m beginning my own shop, Tramontano Motorsports. Focusing on Race Car bodywork and fabrication.

I grew up in a motorhead family, my father works for Dodge and owns a 1970 Charger RT/SE 440+6 Survivor and was a huge influence on my two brothers and me. I have always had fun project cars, I purchased my first car at 16 years old, a 1972 Dodge Dart. Over the years I also owned a 1970 Duster and 1965 Coronet 500, but once I started to get more into autocross and track days eventually sold my muscle cars for more modern cars.

My automotive passion quickly moved from show and drag race muscle cars, to autocross and track days. I am currently a NASA (National Auto Sport Association) HPDE Instructor, Time Trial Racer, and volunteer. I primarily work and drive with Nasa Northeast at events all over the northeast (New Jersey Motorsports Park, Watkins Glen, Lime Rock Park, Pocono Speedway, Palmer Motorsports Park, Thompson Speedway, etc).  My latest “fun” cars have been a 95 Mustang GTS, 2005 Mustang GT, and now my 1995 Mazda Miata that started duty as a daily driver but is slowly transition further and further into race-only duty. Please feel free to contact me if you may be interested in driving your own car on track with NASA Northeast, I would be more than happy to share any info you would like!

Thanks for Visiting the site. I can create personal works for you or your business. Many original works are available as well as prints of others, so feel free to contact me with any questions. Make sure to stop in often and subscribe, I put up new work all the time!
